Queen's Journey
Queen started her journey in the grooming industry in 2002 as a bather in Mt. Pleasant, SC. A couple saw potential in Queen and gave her a chance to grow at her craft, sending her to grooming school to better her skills in the pet grooming industry.
As a child growing up, Queen has always loved animals—even now, they are one of her biggest passions. Queen went on to work for different owners at their shops, continuously honing her expertise and building lasting relationships with pets and their families.
In 2023, Queen became a small business owner herself in Norfolk, VA, where she opened Queen of the Paws Boutique & Spa. She did this because she wanted to leave a legacy for her family. Queen is the mother of five and wife of a military officer. Queen's three oldest children have also learned their mom's skills in the grooming industry, and the two youngest are watching and learning their mom's skills—making this truly a family business.
In 2020, Queen was diagnosed with a rare terminal condition. Through all the challenges, she continues to groom in her shop with her oldest children there to assist her. Her resilience and dedication exemplify her commitment to her craft, her family, and the pets she cares for.
